This is the first day of our Langtang Valley Trek. After having a quick breakfast at Kathmandu, we’ll reach at Macchapokhari. From there, we’ll take shared jeep or bus for the Syabrubesi.
It will take around 7-8 hours from Kathmandu to reach Syabrubesi. Our road trip will be joyful and interesting. Throughout our journey, we’ll see serene valleys, green lush forests, and terraced farmlands.
Today we also have to take permit for Langtang National park at Dhunche where Nepal army will check our documents to entry. After getting in Syabrubesi, we all will check into the lodge. After taking a rest for some time, you may stroll around the local market and shops.
Let’s start the Langtang Valley trek. After having an early morning breakfast, our journey begins . Today, we will hike for 6-7 hours. The trail is well- maintained and easy to walk.
We’ll continue our steps through a beautiful forest while admiring Langtang Lirung. After reaching Ghora Tabela, we’ll be overjoyed to see the Langtang ranges and surrounding areas.
After a short distance of walking, we will all cross suspension bridges. The journey from here takes us through rhododendron, juniper, and oak forests. If we are lucky enough, we may also encounter wildlife such as red pandas, langurs, and different species of birds.
At the end of the day, we’ll reach LAMA Hotel. This place is extremely delightful for an overnight stay, offering Tibetan foods to quench our thirst.
Hope you all are enjoying the Langtag Valley trip. We are on the third day of our trek. Today is one of the remarkable days of our journey. We’ll hike up to 3,430 meters.
After taking breakfast at the Lama Hotel, our journey continues on day 3. We’ll pass through lush green and bamboo forests. Throughout the trek, we may also explore animals and different species of birds. Furthermore, we go through rhododendron, hemlock and oak forests. During our route, we’ll also see the beautiful house of Tamang, paved with stones and carved wood.
In 2015, this place was badly damaged by the earthquake. Later, it was restrained by the World Conservation Forum (WCF). We’ll have a night stay at the tea house of Langtang village.
We’ll have the shortest distance to cover. After having an early morning breakfast, our 4th day trek will start. We are not in a hurry today, so we’ll take our steps slowly and steadily.
Our path will begin by following balanced and well-maintained trails. Throughout our route, we’ll be mesmerised by the beautiful environment of the Langtang region. Furthermore, you’ll see the long prayer flags which describe the importance of Buddhist culture & values.After 3-4 hours of hiking, we’ll finally reach our destination, Kyanjin Gompa. It is one of the most happening places of the Langtang Valley Trek. From the top of this site, we can see the breathtaking views of Langtang, Lirung, Yala and other surrounding peaks. We’ll have an overnight stay and an appetizing dinner here.
The 5th day of the Langtang Valley trek is challenging but equally rewarding. Today, we’ll have to gain an elevation of more than 5,000 meters.
It is a full-day hike which takes around 5-6 hours, depending on our pace and speed. After waking up early and taking a morning meal, our journey will start. Throughout walking, we’ll have to pass through rough terrains and steep ascents.
After hiking for 5-6 hours, we’ll reach Tserko Ri Peaks. From this vantage point, we’ll have amazing views of Langtang, Dorje, Lirung, Shishapangma, and several other surrounding peaks. After spending some quality time and taking photographs, we’ll return to Kyanjin Gompa for an overnight stay.
To date, we explore Syarubesi, visit Lama Hotel, admire the beauty of Kyanjin Gompa, and finally reach the vantage point of Tserko Ri peak. It’s a time to reverse our steps.
On the 6th day of our Langtang Valley trek, we’ll descend our steps from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The return trip will be more amazing. It happens due to the decrement in altitudes, and you will fully acclimatise during the trek. After 6-7 hours of walking, we’ll reach the Lama Hotel. At night, we have a delicious meal, bonfire, and share our trekking experience with our fellow trekkers.
After having a delightful breakfast, we are going to start the 7th day of the Langtang Valley trek. Today, we’ll return to Syabrubesi from Lama Hotel.
The majority of trails are downwards with no hurdles or obstacles. We’ll forward our steps by admiring the lush green forests, stunning landscapes, rhododendron forests and many more.
Before reaching Syabrubesi, you’ll be fascinated by seeing traditional villages and houses. After walking for 6-7 hours, we are at the guest house for a warm stay and comfort food.
This is the final day of our Langtang Valley Trek. Today we will not pressuring our feet. After having a morning meal, we either take a private taxi, shared jeep or public.
After admiring the beautiful environment, the outstanding atmosphere, natural environment, we’ll reach the capital city of Kathmandu. Upon getting to the hotel, you may relax for some time. Meanwhile, in the evening, you may stroll around the local markets of Kathmandu. The enjoyment is not finished yet. We Sherpa discovery treks will give you a farewell program and good good-bye dinner tonight.
On dinner, you’ll enjoy Nepali cuisine, Thakali foods which include Rice, Lentils, and Seasonal Vegetables, Fish/mutton/curry, spinach, custard, Nepali pickle and sweets for dessert.

Drinking water plays a key role for any trekkers throughout the trekking routes. By analyzing the importance of water, we are providing safe and clean drinking water to our trekker’s.
The packaged drinking and mineral water are easily available when you are in Kathmandu or lower altitudes. Throughout our trek, the cost of water may vary depends how upwards we ascend. The higher the elevation more you have to pay for the drinking water. It may cost around 200 to 500 litres on average. It will be best; if you refill the bottle when you are in the lower region. Aside from this, you may also use water purification tablets.

Permits and Documents for the Langtang Valley Trek
You need couple of permits for the Langtang Valley Trek. Here are the details.
Langtang National Park Permit – There is around 12 National Parks in Nepal and you need permission to visit each National Park. Talking about the permit of Langtang, you get the permit from Dhunche, the national entry point. It is mandatory for all trekkers. It costs around 3,000 to foreign nationals and 1,500 to SAARC nation’s tourists.
(Note: At Dhunche, your baggage will check. You are not allowed to take any illegal items or weapons. )
TIMS Permit: You also need to obtain a TIMS card (Trekker’s Information Management System) for the Langtang Valley Trek. You can easily acquire a TIMS card at the Nepal Tourism Board, Kathmandu. It costs around 1000 for foreign nationals, 300 for Nepalese, and 600 for Indians.
Visit Syabrubesi: Syabrubesi is a small and charming village located in the Langtang region. It is situated at the altitude of 1,460 meters. It serves as the gateway for the Langtang region trekking in Nepal.
This place is approximately 118 kilometres, 6-7 hours’ drive from Kathmandu. It is known for its natural beauty, lush green, serene environment, and Himalayan foothills. The majority of the people are from the Tamang community, which is known for its warm hospitality to visitors.
